SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF ACCOUNTING OFFICER (Midwest Location)

We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced, dedicated executive to direct and provide leadership over the controller, SEC, financial reporting, accounting, and budgeting functions for the Bank. Reporting directly to the President-CEO, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining internal controls providing the basis for sound management decisions to meet strategic objectives and safeguarding Bank assets. Ensures the maintenance of accounting records is in accordance with GAAP, FASB, SEC, Sarbanes-Oxley, and Federal Housing Finance Agency directives. As a member of the executive staff, you will interface directly with the Board of Directors, Federal Housing Finance Agency and members.

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • BS in Bus Admin, Accounting or Finance, CPA required. MBA with emphasis in accounting or finance desired.
  • Big 4 audit firm experience is ideal.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the accounting profession required. Thorough knowledge in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and internal control concepts.
  • Experienced working with external audit, the SEC, and federal examination personnel.
  • Leadership skills to develop and strengthen the financial controls team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.


Candidates right out of public accounting (Big 4) will be considered if they have 15+ yrs experience and have focused on bank and financial institution auditing.
